The end is near

Hey guys,

The end is near, hopefully (not really) I can leave Argentina somewhere in the second half of next week. I alsmost got al the documents I need, only a health certificate from a medic is missing because the results are not ready yet. I will receive that certificate next tuesday so I probably can get my visa next wednesday. I hope to fly to Santiago on wednesday evening or thursay morning, yeah I will fly because Gol brasil has a very good offer at te moment which makes it cheaper to buy a roundtrip ticket than to go one way by bus...

Last weekend we have been in Bolivar with the family of my friend julia, they invited me and paul. We could sleep there, they cooked for us and on sunday they took us to their Campo for a real Argentinean family-asado. Was really cool to be in the middle of nowhere on a farm, with meat and nice, ice cold swimming pool, a pool-table in the living room and lots of space to do whatever you want.

The last weekend went pretty fast. We returned on Monday and since tuesday I have been doing things for mi visa. wednesday german paul (room mate in tandil) also arrived here so we had some parties together. The biggest one was yesterday, and gues what, Mause was not allowed to drink alcohol because he had to do some blood-tests this morning (might have been healthy for me)

Tonight we are going to Mar del plata, I got some time for that since I cannot arrange anything in the weekend, not for my visa, nor for my laptop. Yeah my laptop, that stupid thing that was already barely working broke down again. Again the stupid backlight of the screen that doesn´t work. Best of all is that the main garantee ended a half a year ago, and that I only had 3 months on the reperation. So I might have to buy a new one or the guys from HP have to be very nice SINCE IT IS THE 4 TIME IT BROKE DOWN OF WHICH 3 TIMES THE SCREEN HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. Well its okay now, but I really need one for my study I gues.

O yeah I started about Mar del plata, we go there tonight, and tomorow we will go surfing. I have to return befor sunday around noon because they also did a tuberculose test on me this morning and on sunday they have to do a second one. the others stay there and dutch paul will follow me to Buenos Aires on monday.

Bueno, I gotta go, Looking forward to read your comments.

Back "home"

Heey guys,

after a long time it is time to get back to you, my dear website-fans. I know it has been a long long time but I`ve been very busy. Busy with doing nothing. noo that is not totally true. I have seen a lot and have been travelling very much. In my last post I told you that I have been in the pantanal. I will now give you a short summary of the rest of my trip. just where I have been and the best things I`ve been doing.

Our 4 days in the pantanal where great, we had a very good guide that showed us a lot. he even dragged a caymann out of the side of the road, and let us feel how heavy it was. In the evening we went swimming in the same river as we catched the piranhas for dinner. The day that we had our jeep-safari, another guide caught a "small" 4 meter anaconda, too bad we missed that.

After the pantanal our trip went to beautiful but expansive Rio de Janeiro. We stayed in Ipanema for 10 days, spent christmas there and watched a lot of just beautiful women. on december 26 we flew to Santiago de chile, to stay there for 2 nights. Was a good first impression of the city, but I was a little bit disappointed about the nightlife, since everything was clossed at 4.30 in the night. Not what I am used to in Argentina :).

After Santiago we spent about a week in the northern beach-city Iquique. There we had a big surprise because a friend of johanna told us that beni and Pablo also arrived there. Together with them and also more people from the hostel we had a great new-years-eve party, in a big club with free drinks all night long for just 25 euros. We were in the vip-part and the only beer we could get was corona, how sad for us :D

On the second of januar everybody in our hostel left, and coincidentally all to the same place. Thats how we ended up on a jeep tour in the uyuni-salar with 3 irish guys, 2 dutch girls and an Englisch one. we had great fun and saw beautiful things. Sad point was that on the second day one of the 4x4 had a "small" accident, it got in a slip and turned upside down.

Jens and I left the group in Uyuni and went in a nice bolivian "offroad" bus to La paz. stayed there a couple of nights and then left to copacabana on the bolivian side of lake titicaca. There I had one of the worst hangovers I`ve had since a long time, and that on the day We went to isla del sol on a 2 hour boatride... :( ... the next stop was Puno on the other side of the lake in peru, where we visited some floating Islands. the same day we went on to Cusco.

In cusco we took a 4 day tour to Machu pichu, you may think we did the inca-trail, but we didn`t. We took an alternative tour with a 75 kilometer downhill tour on the first day with a lot of rain. The second and third day we both walked about 18 kilometers a day along the river. the walking was realy hard because it went up-hill a lot. The last day there only was 1 hour walking left from aguas calientes to Machu pichu. To be there on time for our tour we had to wake up at 4 in the morning. Being in machu pichu was great, eventhough I was walking around in a sweater that was stinking very much, but it was better than the tshirt I wore while walking up.

After that we went almost directly from cusco to Quito in ecuador. only with a overday stop in lima and 1 night in piura, about 2 hours from the ecuadorian border. In quito I unfortunately had to say goodbye to my dear travelmate. Jensie left to new-york for a couple of days before starting his studie in Mexico, and I went to nothern peru to the relaxed beach-town Mancora. I stayed there for a week together with my former roommate pablo pelado and surfed every day. Surfing is going pretty well know, I am even thinking about buying my own board.

on friday I went to Lima where I arrived on saturday in the morning and I took a flight in the evening to Buenos Aires... the city I love so much... haha wel at least it is great here. and this time paul is hear (the dutch one). where having really great fun. And it feels really like home here... with the good food, nice wine and the nightlife that never stops.

Okay, that`s for know. You will hear all the stories once I am back home in july. after today I will try to update regularly again.

bye bye.
