Aeropuerto & Hospital & bombs in the metro

Hi there!

well, time for a new update I think. yesterday we had a party of our University in the biggest club of Santiago. was pretty full over there. we first had a small party at our place after a short football match in the park. Round 12 we went to the place where the buses would leave. For me the evening went very fast, it certainly was somewhere around five and we had to go. good to notice is that Paula and I where the last ones to leave the main area. so yeah, we've had a good party there. off course with some drinks and a lot fun. after a half an hour busride that made me feel sick and a very funny metro ride we arrived back home round 7 in the morning. now at 11.30 in the evening I still got a very bad headache.

Than some bad news, as I already said we had a football match yesterday. There my roommate satu hurt her ankle, today she went to the hospital just to check it. and at the moment she is still there, she has to stay there and tomorrow morning they will operate her because she broke her leg, and its a complicated one. Good thing is that she is in one of the best hospitals in the city, which also means that it is the most expensive one. 1 night there cost 214.000 pesos, I pay 90.000 a month for my room, but hey, that is what we got the insurance for. tomorrow we will pick her up and I think we will have to nurse her for the next 2 months. yep, bad things happen.

Ah this is gonna be a very happy post, now I will tell you about the public transport system here in santiago. In januar they changed the whole system to make it possible for more people to use it. ´But I think they made some wrong calculations, and now it is just a mess because there are too many people. a couple of weeks ago a women died in the metro because she couldn't breath anymore, and today there were demonstrations all over the city. This demonstration were pretty violent. people have been shooting with guns and in one metro station they threw a bomb. I am lucky I dont needto go to university by metro. nah, truth is that this was only today, normaly they dont shoot and throw bombs :)

Hey guys, dont worry, I'll be okay. And I think I will be home on sunday the 22 of july. More about my trip will follow as soon as I finally booked my flight.

Back at school

Heey guys,

There I am again, yes it has been a while but I was a litle bit busy and actually I did not have so much news to tell. Everything is going well in our house, it actually is way to good here. that ends up in partying every night and to much alcohol.
In my second week here, after the university's introduction, some friends of Anni came by for a couple of days. that were some crazy days, which ended wih our house warming on friday night, where my roommate got a nice paper from the police at 2.30 in the night. And the next morning the elevators were not working anymore, but it turned out that happened more often.
The two friends of Anni's boyfriend that were staying here were Sergio and Gabriel. Sergio left last sunday and Gabriel stayed untill last thursday. When Gabriel left, Paula and I went with him to La Serena, we stayed there in the house of Sergio and they took us around the city. For the friday night we were invited to a party in their University. And that university organizes really good partys. We ended up in the house of 3 girls that we met when we left, the after party there was too much for me and I almost fell asleep, but that could be, in the meanwhile it was 6.30 in the morning and I hadn't had much sleep the evening before.
This saturday they took us to El valle de pisco elqui, We hired a small house there with a pool on the campsite and a barbeque in the garden. We also invited the 3 girls that we actually didn't know, but it turned out to be really funny.
Unfortunately we had to return on sunday to la serena, because Paula and I had to take the last bus back to Santiago. After a last pitcher of beer together we left at 12.15 and we arrived at 6 in Santiago, and I dont know whether you have heared about transsantiago over there, but they changed all the buslines so that more people can use public transport. They didn't calculate that this would cause so much more people using it. So when we arrived we confronted a full metro at 6.20 in the morning.... but I got home, almost dead, because I was so tired and the amount of alcohol consumed in the weekend.
Good, last week University started also. But "unfortunately" most of the classes didn't take place, This week is another story, just today, some minutes ago I decided which courses I am going to take for sure, and with that I also decided to better my life, more sports, better food and less alcohol.
That means, at least for the next 2 weeks because after that Paul and Frank might come over from Tandil and I cannot let those guys down offcourse. Really hope they are coming, will be a hard week for university, but a lot of fun besides that.

Well gotta go now, We are going out for dinner to a colombian restaurant with my Colombian roommates Roberto and Andres and some members of the finnish gang here in santiago. Well you will hear from me somewhere in the end of this week, than with information about the planning of my next trip, cause Im going to ushuaia :) will be a hell of a trip, but Im gonna make it. Oyeah and then I will also tell you that I uploaded more photos (hopefully)

bye

Santiago

Hey everybody,

It´s been a long time since I wrote. But don`t worry I am okay and I´ve been busy. My last weeks in Buenos Aires were horrible!! all sunny days, to many nice people in my hostel and every night a party J actually it was horrible, because I had a countdown in my head. A countdown until I had to leave Argentina. I also had some problems with getting my visa. But off course I enjoyed Buenos Aires very much, damn I am in love with that city, and the nightlife is awesome.

BUT since Monday I am in Santiago. When I first arrived I didn’t exactly know where to go, I wasn´t sure if I could enter my Room jet so I was looking for an Hostel near my new house. Online I met Maca, and she offered me that I could stay in her house for the night. So I had a very warm welcome in Chile.

Tuesday in the Afternoon I went to the apartment to bring my stuff there, but I couldn´t get in because Satu (my roommate) just left to get her stuff. So together with Maca I went for a walk on Cerro San Cristobal. But damn it was to hot in the sun. Actually the temperatures here are a bit lower than they are in Buenos Aires, but since I didn´t do so many activities the last time, it was killing me.

In the night we went back to my room to get my stuff inside and this time I could get in. It is an nice apartment, nothing special but it has everything. My room is big enough and my bed is comfortable, actually that was all I needed. The building is in a big but quite street, and from our balcony on the 7th store we have a nice view of San Cristobal and into the city. My roommates are also totally okay, until today I was alone with Satu and Anni from Finland, and tonight the last one arrived as well, Andres from Colombia. So you will not hear me complaining. even though my door already locked itself 2 times and we don´t got a key, that meant I almost had to sleep on the couch my second night J.

Okay that until now, later on I will introduce you to my roommates and I’ll post some pictures of the apartment.

All the best!
